Abstract
This study addresses the importance of financial education in Brazil and its low dissemination in the daily lives of the population. The research problem refers to the lack of financial knowledge and its impacts on families. The objective is to promote financial education through a university extension project, training multipliers and encouraging financial planning. The methodology involves interdisciplinary actions, research, and practical activities in communities and schools. The theoretical framework highlights financial education as essential to citizenship. As results, improvements in financial control, greater economic awareness, and a positive social impact are observed.
