Who we are

The Health and Society was born in January 2021 and had its first issue published in March 2022. Our journal was born with the purpose of disseminating research of great academic relevance to society with free access to published texts. If you want to know more about the proposal of our journal, then feel invited to know our values and purpose:

The Health and Society was born with the purpose of serving as a scientific and social instrument in the dissemination of completed research, in the development phase or in research projects. Its name seeks to address the entire broad area of health sciences, thus, the term Health refers to all professional training that exists within this broad area of knowledge. The term interdisciplinarity goes back to the possibility of intersections and transversality of research within the area of health sciences. This idea generated a brand that is based on a closed circle, seeking a dialectical perspective of the study, since precise knowledge is constantly being reanalysed, while the colors go back to the diversity of knowledge.

Our journal aims to disseminate the health theme in an interdisciplinary way, thus, the Brand Concept of our journal is inspired by the following elements:

a) The Cross to represent the thematic area of health;

b) The contrast between green, red, blue and orange, to exemplify the different fields of study in the health sciences;

c) A circle around the cross to symbolize the renewal of knowledge;

The mission of the Health and Society is to become one of the main national and international means of disseminating scientific research in the area of interdisciplinary debate in health, as well as allowing free access to the academic community and society to all published research.

Our vision is to be one of the main means of dissemination and access to scientific research in Latin America and Brazil, allowing many people to build their knowledge and contribute to the construction of a more egalitarian society.

Our main objective is, through free access to published research, to provide a process of social transformation to society and the scientific community. Thus, through free access to research, we want to stimulate debate, interaction and development of scientific research.

Our target audience are researchers and society in general. Thus, we accept academic works from teachers and students of the most diverse levels of training, as well as works co-authored by up to 10 (ten) people.

Our journal receives several types of manuscripts, such as:

a) Scientific articles: between 10 and 20 pages;

b) Expanded Abstracts, Case and Experience Reports: between 5 and 8 pages;

Our periodicity is bimonthly, so we have publications that usually occur in the months of February, April, June, August, October and December. In addition, our flow is continuous, so you can submit your manuscript at any time.
