Abstract
This article presents the state of the art of national and international scientific production on climate justice as a constitutional category, through a systematized review of articles published in academic journals between 2011 and 2026. The research, bibliographic and documentary in nature, employs Laurence Bardin’s content analysis to categorize the literature into three thematic axes: the theoretical construction of climate constitutionalism, the rights turn in climate litigation, and the juridification of climate justice in Brazilian constitutional law. The results, synthesized in an analytical chart, indicate that international literature has consolidated climate constitutionalism as a research field, but remains divided between rights-centred and institutional approaches; that Brazilian production has evolved from descriptive studies on climate litigation to dogmatic analyses of the fundamental right to a stable climate; and that a relevant theoretical gap persists: the absence of systematization of climate justice as an autonomous juridical-constitutional category, endowed with its own normative scope, addressees and legal consequences. The article concludes by proposing a research agenda aimed at filling this gap.
