Virtual atlas of cardiovascular histopathology

Abstract

This cardiovascular histopathological atlas brings together morphological and pathophysiological aspects of the main cardiac diseases, with emphasis on cardiac hypertrophy, acute myocardial infarction, and atherosclerosis. The material correlates theoretical concepts with microscopic images, allowing the identification of cellular and tissue alterations characteristic of each condition. Mechanisms of development, causes, risk factors, and lesion evolution are addressed. The annotated slides facilitate the recognition of structures and the understanding of the pathological process. This work constitutes an essential didactic resource for the integrated study of cardiovascular pathology.
